listening to songs like 'what i've done' by LP and 'we believe' by good charlotte, makes me wonder what our world has come to, and why so many of us haven't got the guts to admit what we've done wrong, or even what we're doing wrong.

sometimes we need to know our limits in whatever we're doing. We need to make sure that what we do doesn't hurt others, whether intentionally or not. but more often than not we go too far in our actions and people get hurt, and then the quarrels, arguments, fights and displeasure begins.

making fun of others might be fun when done good-naturedly and with people you're familiar with. but even with such people, and especially to people you don't even know, one can go too far and hurt the other party with words. although I make fun of my friends myself and sometimes when they get mad I just think 'what's the big deal?'. but when i look back on it and think about how when i've been made fun of or whatever, it didn't make me feel good at all and with my temper and all I kinda got mad, though I didn't do/say anything drastic. but that just makes me feel grateful to have tolerant friends who can put up with seemingly everything. and yet look at super intolerant people and just wonder why.

thats why its amazing how people like huige and harold keep their cool no matter what, no matter how much they're made fun of, 'cos they can either take it in their stride and for what it is: a joke, or they can defend themselves against it in the same lighthearted manner as well. if i were in their place, my temper that i might try hard to keep in check would just take over and i'd end up blowing up. which is something that i really gotta change. and 2007 is going to be all about change.
