TechnologyPosted at: 6:59 PM Did anyone notice how dependent on technology we are nowadays? Okay at least I am. I use the computer daily for entertainment, work and other things. Whenever my mp3 player runs out of battery or is spoilt, especially if the battery goes flat on an MRT trip or something, it seems as the end of the world is nigh 'cos it's so boring without music. When my faulty Internet disconnects or one of the light flashes off during a Battle.Net game, I feel like punching someone's face in (God forbid that happens in a World of Warcraft Molten Core raid especially if a piece of phat lewt drops. I will resort to murder. Yes I will.) It's getting scarier the amount of artificial intelligence being pumped into things. And as the computers and systems get more advanced, we humans seem to degenerate. Expecting the wonderful systems to do everything for us, even correct our mistakes, we do things in a slipshod manner and hardly pay attention or put in effort to the synchronizing and organising that we are doing in our computers, until we print out the final product and submit it in, or key in certain values and press 'submit', then we look at the final screen and go "OH CRAP! GGXX!" Just some stuff for everyone to think about. Should we continue in our quests for more and more conveniences with the advancement of technology, or should we go back to the old days of raw human ability. Well anyway English and SS CTs were done with yesterday. Although I have the sneaking feeling that my English essay will not be as good as my other ones, it's alright. The SS paper was relatively okay since the Remaking Singapore part was a complete no-brainer 10 mark free effort. And wow I didn't study at all, read through 2 chapters of Shou Ce within 10 mins, hardly paid attention in Chinese classes, and yet I got 61 for Chinese Prelims. And the highest in our class is headboy who I bet doesn't study that much for Chinese too. I wonder... Well monday spells my doom. Seriously I can just give up on Chem 'cos even though the basic stuff are rather okay, once they start shifting the properties in the questions a little bit around I am totally confused. But sunday spells return. |
